PLATT TO REACH NEW HEIGHTS AS SPIRIT OF LIFE HONOREE

Warner/Chappell CEO Jon Platt will be the City of Hope’s 2018 Spirit of Life Award recipient. The award, COH’s highest honor, recognizes “a philanthropic leader whose work has fundamentally impacted music, film or entertainment.” The pubco chief will accept at a black-tie gala on 10/11 in L.A.

As an honoree, Platt will join the likes of Mo Ostin, Clive Davis, Quincy Jones, Frances W. Preston, Shelli and Irving Azoff, Edgar Bronfman, Jr., Doug Morris, and Sir Lucian Grainge.

Praising COH as a place “that doesn’t just treat the body, it also gives hope and nourishment to the soul," Platt praised the hard work and “compassion” of its staff in working to fight an array of deadly ailments.

“Many of us have been affected by the diseases and disorders that City of Hope is striving to cure, which makes this cause both personal and universal. Being chosen to receive this award is a great honor,” he added, “and I take seriously the responsibility of leading our industry’s campaign to support City of Hope's vital work. October's event will be unforgettable. Many of my friends have already agreed to be involved, and it will be a celebration of our commitment to make a difference.”

COH President/CEO Robert W. Stone expressed his admiration for Platt, noting that the influential exec is “at the forefront of a new generation of leaders who are champions of compassion and collaboration.”
