QUEEN SET TO ROCK THE OSCARS

After attempting to keep music and the number of awards presented on air to a minimum, the Oscars will now feature a performance from Queen + Adam Lambert in celebration of Bohemian Rhapsody, which is up for five awards.

The Motion Picture Academy has back-pedaled on its plan to hand out four awards during commercial breaks and limit musical performances to two of the nominated songs and an appearance by the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Now, Bette Midler will perform Best Original Song nominee "The Place Where Lost Things Go" from Mary Poppins Returns, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will reprise their duet on “Shallow” from A Star is Born, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings will do the tune they wrote for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings,” and Jennifer Hudson will do Diane Warren’s “I’ll Fight” from RBG. No word yet on whether Kendrick Lamar and SZA will perform their Black Panther hit, “All the Stars.”

Considering that the Academy—and ABC—wanted the show to wrap in three hours, might it now approach the length of the Grammys?
