U.K. CHARTS: JACK SAVORING A #1  

Jack Savoretti is heading for his debut #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with Singing to Strangers (BMG) leading at the midweek stage thanks to strong physical sales. Over on singles, Lewis Capaldi looks set for a fourth week at the top.

Savoretti’s highest album chart position in his home country is the #6 peak rthat his 2016 release hit. Sixth album Singing to Strangers has so far shifted more physical albums than the rest of the Top 5 combined and should give him his highest opening sales week yet.

Two more new entries are eyeing a Top 10 debut this Friday: Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s orchestral greatest hits, The Song Diaries (Cooking Vinyl), is heading for #7, and blues guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor could pick up her first Top 10 entry with her seventh album, Reckless Heart (Sony Music), at #9.

In the Top 5, Tom Walker’s What a Time To Be Alive (Relentless) has risen back to #2; last week’s #1, Dave’s Psychodrama (Neighbourhood), is down to #3; The Greatest Showman (Atlantic) has risen to #4; and George Ezra’s Staying at Tamara’s (Columbia) is #5.

On the Official Singles Chart, Capaldi’s "Someone You Loved" (Virgin EMI) is currently 1.6k combined sales ahead of Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Giant” (Columbia) at #2.

Walker could land his first Top 5 single with “Just You and I” rising six places to #4, while Jonas Brothers’s “Sucker” (Polydor) is up two to #5. Ava Max’s “So Am I” (Atlantic) is currently this week’s highest new entry, starting at #38.
