Lil Nas X has crashed Post Malone’s party, as his envelope-pushing country-trap hybrid gallops from #9 to #2, putting “Old Town Road” between Post’s “Wow.” and “Sunflower” on our latest Song Revenue Chart. Will the just-released remix featuring Billy Ray Cyrus on a verse (no joke) legitimize it for Country programmers, so to speak, busting open the monetary floodgates for the Columbia upstart? Could reality get any weirder?
Little else has changed among the week’s biggest moneymakers, apart from the fact that all but the aforementioned top three earners were slightly down from the previous week. Republic retains 40% of the real estate on the leaderboard, thanks to Ariana Grande and Jonas Brothers.
