WHEELS & DEALS: TOP OF THE ANT HILL (UPDATE)
UPDATE: Hot on the heels of last week's viral buzz artist Arizona Zervas and his hit "Roxanne," comes this week's viral wunderkind Ant Saunders. His song "Yellow Hearts" currently sits atop the Spotify U.S. Viral 50 and Global Viral 50, was just added to their Today's Top Hits playlist, and is #60 and climbing on their U.S. Top 200 chart, with 5.3m plays. It also resides on Apple Music's Today's Hits playlist, and is #21 on their Top 100: USA.
Like other recent viral sensations, this one also began on TikTok, where Saunders had been posting video clips of himself and an acoustic guitar covering popular songs. He then posted a clip of his own "Yellow Hearts" in mid-October, with a split-screen showing a post from a user whose best friend is "the girl who this song is about." 1.1m views, and many more UGC dance clips later, his single sprung onto the streaming charts. Saunders is managed by Nick Mueller at Nick Mgmt.
