THE VINYL BOOM HITS RECORD STORE DAY

Discogs reported huge increases in sales so far for 2020's Record Store Day celebration, which was split into three separate weekends due to the pandemic.

Orders within their site were up 41%, with individual records sales increasing 47% to 78,680 units, compared to 53,481 sold in 2019. There are still two more drops coming for RSD 2020.

Discogs attributes the boom in orders to the listing of inventory online ahead of RSD for the first time ever, along with an overall increase in vinyl sales this year. The first half of 2020 was the company's best-ever six-month stretch in terms of sales.

Beyond Discogs, Nielsen reported in its midyear report that vinyl was up 11.2% over 2019's first half. With two more weeks of RSD and the holiday season approaching, all signs point to a banner year for vinyl sales, considering the circumstances.

Thank you for ordering seven different copies of folklore.
