U.K. MIDWEEKS: TAYLOR TAKES OVER

Taylor Swift is heading for her sixth U.K. Official Albums chart-topper, while three of the songs from Evermore (EMI) are eyeing the Top 40. “Willow” leads at #4.

Swift may have the most-download sales and album streams at the halfway point, but the biggest physical seller of the week so far is Neil Diamond’s Classic Diamonds featuring the London Symphony Orchestra (Capitol), which currently sits at #2.

Another orchestral album also looks set to make the Top 5—Johnny Cash and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s Johnny Cash and the RPO (Legacy), which is up 11 places to #4 today (12/14).

Mancunian band James starts at #10 with Live in Extraordinary Times (BMG). The KillersImploding the Mirage (EMI) re-enters at #11 following its vinyl release. And Gerry Cinnamon’s chart-topper, The Bonny (AWAL), is also on the rebound, after the release of a special vinyl edition; it currently sits at #18.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles mid-week, Swift’s “Champagne Problems” and “No Body, No Crime” f/Haim follow “Willow” at #12 and #15, respectively.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (Columbia) is holding at #1 today, closely trailed by Wham!’s “Last Christmas” (Epic) at #2.

Two Christmas songs newly recorded for Amazon’s "Original" series could climb into this week’s Top 10: Jess Glynne’s “This Christmas” vaults 10 places to #3, and Justin Bieber’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” rockets 17 spots to #7.
