UMPG SIGNS JULIA MICHAELS

UMPG has inked a global publishing deal with Grammy-nominated songwriter, recording artist and hitmaker Julia Michaels.

One of the most sought-after songwriters in pop music today, Michaels has written for stars like Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, The Chicks, Shawn Mendes and P!nk, among others.

She's currently nominated for a Grammy Award, with JP Saxe, for Song of the Year for their smash collaboration "If the World Was Ending."

Michaels has co-written 25 titles that have charted on the Hot 100, including two #1 hits: Bieber's "Sorry" (8x platinum) and Gomez's "Lose You to Love Me." After signing to Republic Records as a solo artist, she released her first single, "Issues," which earned a SOTY nomination and is now 5x platinum.

Jody Gerson, Chairman and CEO of UMPG, said: “Julia has an immense gift for songwriting. I've admired her as a songwriter and an artist and have loved her songs since the beginning of her career. I'm so proud that she is now a UMPG songwriter and look forward to working with her manager, Beka Tischker, and my global teams to help make all of Julia's artistic dreams a reality!”

Michaels added: “I’m so excited to join UMPG’s family of artists and songwriters! I know with Jody Gerson, David Gray, Lillia Parsa and the UMPG family, I’m going to have a solid foundation and a wonderful, supportive and hardworking team. I can’t wait to keep making music that I love and to do it in my new home.”
