NEAR TRUTHS: TURNSTYLES

HOUSE BEAUTIFUL: We’ve talked ourselves hoarse about how huge Harry Styles is—most recently in the context of 2022’s biggest #1 chart debut so far, a stunning 515k for the Columbia set Harry’s House. But jeez, how can we shut up about him when he’s also sold north of 2m tickets worldwide—700k of those in North America, on a jaunt with 42 dates in just five cities, 30 of these in L.A. and NYC alone? Should he so desire, Harry will be able to extend this tour well into 2023 and beyond by coming back through and hitting some of the major U.S. markets he’s bypassing this year. Will the next trek be the long-awaited stadium tour? Meanwhile, “dynamic pricing” has driven ticket prices to astronomical highs; Harry tix are already fetching eye-popping sums on the secondary market.

SPILLING THE TEA: Regardless of the weather, London’s summer will get some serious heat from the AEG-presented Hyde Park season as headliners Elton John (6/24), The Rolling Stones (6/25, 7/3), the Eagles (6/26), Adele (7/1-2), Pearl Jam (7/8-9) and Duran Duran (7/10) offer a heady blend of pop and rock power spanning the last half-century-plus. The U.K. festival mojo will be similarly pumped up by Glastonbury (6/22-26), with headliners Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar offering a kindred cornucopia of currency and nostalgia, joined by Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Rodrigo, Kacey Musgraves, Noel Gallagher, Herbie Hancock, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Diana Ross, Lorde, Crowded House, Supergrass and many more.
