Sony's Legacy Recordings is celebrating 25 years of Mariah Carey's Butterfly with a digital expanded edition boasting eight bonus tracks, among other goodies.
The set, which includes new remixes, previously released a cappella versions and live tracks, plus Carey’s reinterpretation of "The Roof," a collaboration with Brandy, is now playing at DSPs.
An exclusive anniversary-edition vinyl run, meanwhile, contains a two-LP standard version pressed on "champagne wave" vinyl, a four-LP deluxe version pressed on 180g "gold nugget" vinyl, rare remixes and a lyrics-and-photo booklet. Head over to Vinyl Me, Please to pre-order.
"The Roof" was not the only single spawned by Butterfly; the other was "Honey." A 12-inch of "Honey" remixes and other Butterfly configurations, including cassette, can be found at Urban Outfitters.
The videos for "The Roof" and "Honey" have re-emerged in 4K remastered versions as part of the anniversary celebration, and a documentary on the making of the "Honey" clip will be released Monday, while some of the Range-managed Carey's classic performances will be disseminated via YouTube throughout the month.
And if that's not enough, new Butterfly merch can be found here.
Now, excuse us as we return to our sweet, sweet fantasy of working anywhere but here.
