FOO FIGHTERS RETURN TO FESTIVALS

Foo Fighters have booked their first festival appearances since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. They will hit Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio, on 5/18, Boston Calling on 5/26 and Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn., on 6/18.

The Lumineers and Paramore will also headline Boston Calling, which will transpire 5/25-28 at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Mass. Other acts on the bill include Alanis Morissette, Queens of the Stone Age, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Bleachers. Aaron Dessner of The National, which will perform before Foo Fighters, is the co-curator of the festival, produced by Crash Line Productions.

The Foos will close Superfly/AC Entertainment-produced Bonnaroo, playing out 6/15-18. Kendrick Lamar and Odesza are the other headliners, with Baby Keem, Lil Nas X and Paramore also on the bill.

Tickets go on sale Thursday (1/12) for Boston Calling and Bonnaroo. Sonic Temple, for which KISS, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, QOTSA and Deftones are booked, is putting tickets on sale Friday (1/13).

In the 10 months since Hawkins' death, on 3/25, Dave Grohl and co. have appeared only at two concerts in tribute to their fallen drummer. No word yet on who will sit behind the kit for the band's upcoming shows.
