Mexican American singer-songwriter Ivan Cornejo returns with his first 2023 release, "Aquí te Espero." The reverb-heavy "sad sierreño," among the top new debuts at Apple Music, is already moving at DSPs. The song was co-produced by longtime collaborator Frank Rio and NEON16 hitmaker Albert Hype.
"Aquí te Espero" was among the top new songs impacting Apple Music on 7/28, trailing only new contributions from Travis Scott. By late that afternoon, Cornejo's cut had moved to #45 on Apple's all-genre chart. The song offers new depth from the teen phenom, containing multiple movements and surpassing four minutes.
