RCA SIGNS MARKETING WIZ DAVIS, ADDS A JV

It’s official: Marketing baller Archie Davis has been named SVP, Marketing, RCA Records, and together they have entered into a joint venture label titled Six Course Music Group. We told you about this in September.

Six Course Inc., a creative agency and production company within which Six Course Music Group will exist, is where Davis will discover, sign and develop artists under the Six Course Music Group/RCA Records imprint.

The former SVP of Urban Marketing at Interscope Records will oversee marketing campaigns for all of RCA’s artists.

“Archie Davis is an undeniable force in the music industry and we are lucky and excited that he has decided to join and bring his label to RCA,” RCA Chairman & CEO Peter Edge said. “His passion to find young talent, marketing acumen, and extensive relationships both within the music industry as well as the broader entertainment industry is what makes Archie an outstanding executive. I know he will only enhance RCA by bringing in hot new talent and delivering top tier marketing campaigns.”

An award-winning entertainment-marketing executive, Davis and his Six Course team’s recent campaign for Wendy’s broke new ground for the QSR business with a five-track mixtape titled We Beefin?.

Davis said, “Alongside Peter Edge and [Co-President] John Fleckenstein, I look forward to the label being a destination where all parts of entertainment come together authentically to have the biggest impact and as a place where artists are comfortable and happy to call RCA their home.”
