DIPLO & WALLEN GENERATE HEAT WITH "HEARTLESS"

Diplo’s new cut featuring country breakout Morgan Wallen, "Heartless" (Mad Decent/Columbia), is definitely whipping up some buzz.

The song, already generating heat at radio, is #11 at iTunes and nabbed Spotify’s New Music Friday playlisting in more than 30 countries last week; it’s approaching 2.5m streams on the DSP. “Heartless” is also featured in Apple Music's Best of The Week.

The collab is an extension of Diplo’s Thomas Wesley project, which has enabled the DJ/producer to explore an inventive fusion of country and EDM.

It’s also earning strong reviews. "The mix of sounds and styles serves to highlight Wallen’s superb voice, as confident and assured here as with the throwback country-rock on his debut album, If I Know Me,” writes Rolling Stone Country.

Wallen's most-recent single, "Whiskey Glasses," went platinum and spent multiple weeks in the #1 spot at Country radio this summer, marking back-to-back #1s at the format for the Nashville troubadour. He’s amassed more than 1 billion global streams TD. And his Spotify profile boasts 5m+ monthly listeners. "Whiskey Glasses" and predecessor "Up Down" have racked up 95m+ streams each at the platform.

His work with Diplo, meanwhile, also showcases Wallen’s versatility. How far will this collaborative effort go? Stay tuned.
