RIHANNA TO BE HONORED BY NAACP

Rihanna will receive the 2020 President's Award from the NAACP at their 51st NAACP Image Awards on 2/22.

The award is presented each year in an effort to recognize special achievement and distinguished public service. With this honor, Rihanna joins the company of previous President’s Award recipients including Lauryn Hill and last year’s winner Jay-Z.

"Rihanna has not only enjoyed a groundbreaking career as an artist and musician, but has also distinguished herself as a stellar public servant," said NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson. "From her business achievements through Fenty, to her tremendous record as an activist and philanthropist, Rihanna epitomizes the type of character, grace, and devotion to justice that we seek to highlight in our President’s Award."

Speculation has been ramping up for the past year that RiRi will be releasing new music soon, via Roc Nation/Westbury Road in conjunction with Def Jam.

Rihanna and other award recipients will be honored on the show, which will air live from Pasadena on 2/22 at 8pm on BET.
