"GHOST" STORY: STONES' NEW TUNE, VIDEO SUM UP
THE MOMENT

Just days after performing “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” on TV, The Rolling Stones have dropped a new tune that was partially recorded during the COVID-19 lockdown, along with a highly evocative video.

“Living in Ghost Town,” the first new Mick Jagger-Keith Richards-penned song since 2012's "Doom and Gloom," was recorded more than a year ago in Los Angeles for a new album for Universal Music Group. They finished it up while in isolation. Charlie Watts notes, “I enjoyed working on this track. I think it captures a mood and I hope people who listen to it will agree.”

Of all the material they recorded, Jagger says, “there was one song we thought would resonate through the times that we’re living in right now. We’ve worked on it in isolation. And here it is.”

The clip is filled with eerie footage of abandoned urban spaces as we all shelter in place. Call it "Exile on Every Street."
