BANDCAMP FRIDAY GETS POLITICAL

Every first Friday of the month since March, Bandcamp has been waiving its revenue share and giving all earnings made from purchases directly to the artists. Since kicking off Bandcamp Fridays, fans have bought more than $75m worth of music and merch directly from artists and labels.

Similar to previous Bandcamp Fridays, artists have special releases arriving today (9/4), including a compilation of 40 unreleased tracks aptly titled Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy.

Executive Produced by Brilliant Corners Artist Management's Jordan Kurland, Josh Rosenfeld and Darius Zelkha, along with author Dave Eggers and fellow manager Christian Stavros, Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy includes unreleased tracks from Hayley Williams, Death Cab for Cutie, Sharon Van Etten, Phoebe Bridgers, Superchunk, Soccer Mommy and 34 other artists.

With a minimum donation of $20.20, the complication is available for the next 24 hours and all net proceeds will go to the voters' rights organization, Fair Fight. A limited-edition signed poster of the cover art, created by Shepard Fairey, will also be available and net proceeds will go to the nation's largest online racial justice organization, Color of Change.

Additionally, Bank Robber Music/Rough Trade Publishing has released TALK – ACTION = ZERO Vol. 2 via Bandcamp with 59 BRM/RT artists performing original or cover songs with a political message. All proceeds from the collection will go to SpreadtheVote.org.

Head to GoodMusic2020.Bandcamp.com to purchase Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy—only available today (9/4)—and don’t forget to vote.
