AMATO TO LEAD SOUTH AMERICA FOR SONY LATIN

Afo Verde's Sony Music Latin-Iberia has unified its South American operations. Buenos Aires-based Damián Amato will now be responsible for the Spanish-speaking region, reporting directly to Chairman/CEO Verde.

Former Warner Latina GM of the Andean region Maria "Mechas" Mercedes Montejo joins as managing director of SMLI's Andean region. Mechas, who will report to Amato, replaces Adriana Restrepo, who will be joining the IFPI leadership team.

Amato has worked at Sony Music for the last two decades, previously serving as president of the southernmost region of South America.

“I am very grateful to Adriana for all her efforts and contributions to this important part of our region, both artistically and commercially,” said Verde. “We wish her the best and will look forward to a continuing working relationship with her and IFPI in the future. Fortunately, we have a strong successor in Mechas, who has broad experience in the industry and the Andean region. I am confident that she will build upon the success and trajectory of the region. I’m also grateful to Damián for taking on this broader role. I’ve had the privilege of working with him for many years, and I know this will be another significant chapter in his illustrious career. Without a doubt the artists, Mechas and the incredible Andean team will enjoy and benefit from his leadership.”
